About Us
Our Mission
In that we are convinced that a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ is the “missing link” in humanity’s desperate search for hope and meaning in life, our mission is loving God, loving others and following jesus’ way to help others do the same.
Where We Started
Journey of Faith traces its beginnings to a small group of people who began to meet together in August of 2003 to seek God about planting a particular kind of church in Yuma. The desire of this group was for a fellowship that would exude Christ’s love, for worship that was passionate, for teaching that was heartfelt and practical, and for integrity to be universally reflected in the life and practice of the church. With these things in mind the name Journey of Faith ws chosen for the church. And in December of 2004 David Greiner, with his wife Patty, was called to be the first Pastor of the church. With this step of faith the journey began in earnest.
What We Value
Servant Leadership is important to us. Our Leader, Jesus said:
“[he] did not come to be served, but to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28
In this we desire to follow His example.
Grace as the governing principle of conduct for Christians. God desires that we would fully celebrate and enjoy the life He has created for us. He does not pile on the burdens of tradition and guilt inducing Law. In Christ we are set free to live joyfully and enthusiastically.
Character. In a “what have you done for me lately,” performance oriented society, we opt for character. As followers of Christ we desire our attitudes and behavior to conform to His Phillipians 2:1-5
Community. We long to be a fellowship in which we can count on one another. From birth to death we desire to support, encourage and help one another. We believe ministries are most effectively led by teams of people with a common interest, who are particularly skilled, Spirit empowered and intensely devoted to one another and the cause of Christ.
Journey of Faith Fellowship is a community of followers of Jesus Christ who are motivated by love for God and for others to live as the expressions of God’s love in the larger community of Yuma.
